Running repairs

Nmes airport is being closed from August 4 to August 24 because of repair work to the main runway. Ryanair has suspended its daily service from Stansted for the period.

Booking the trend
The price of a British hotel room has increased by only 0.61% in the past year, compared with 9.47% in New York, 10.61% in Rome, 6.94% in Madrid and 23.44% in Amsterdam, according to the latest Tariff Survey carried out by Expotel, the hotel reservations agency. The average room rate for all categories this year is £93.18.

Some 75% of people who take all-inclusive holidays admit to eating and drinking more than usual because they know at the end of the evening they will not be faced with a large bill, according to Valtur by Cadogan Holidays (0870 0363666).
