World Travel Direct? That's not a company I've heard of.
Unless you follow the Stock Exchange, you probably haven't heard of Culver Holdings either, which is a London insurance, financial and travel business trying to get a foothold in online travel. It set up wtd.com five months ago.

It's rather more elegant than some I've seen.
Yes - wtd.com does most of the things that Expedia and ebookers can do, but in a more user-friendly fashion. All the quoted prices include tax and the cheapest flight options are shown first.

Any gimmicks?
The Red Light Specials - when the amber lights on the homepage turn red (similar to those at a train crossing) and start flashing, the purchasers of certain flights marked with a red star are entitled to a free economy ticket.

Anything else?
Before you can get anywhere, you're required to register. When we looked, one of the four special offers flagged was a flight to New York that had to be booked by the day before yesterday. Sadly, time travelling is not one of the options offered.
