I don't like culture.
Then you should take the Eurostar to Belgium before October 15. Je n'Aime pas la Culture is a retrospective of 20th-century history, highlighting cartoons.

Where did you stumble across that?
On the impressive What's On When site. I said I was interested in literature, and it came up with lots of suggestions - including the 2000 Oslo Ibsen Festival and the Saraswati festival in Indonesia, where books are given to the goddess to be blessed.

I've already booked a week in St Lucia.
Searching by destination is possible too. What's On When is fantastically detailed: it can tell you when the autumn equinox at Chichen Itza takes place, the best place to see the next meteor shower or the date of the White Nights party in St Petersburg.

Nothing to criticise at all?
I did wonder why an ad for the Reader's Digest Guide to Vitamins and Minerals kept popping up in the listings, but the site has to make money somehow. But few mainstream guides would tell you to visit London's Smithfield market - let alone what to look for when you're there.
