I know your plan is to go to Lima, but if at all possible try and fit in a visit to Bolivia. The most beautiful spot I have ever been to was called Rurrenebaque. It has UNESCO biosphere status and is full of the most diverse and wonderful wildlife. You can take a three day tour on a canoe and sleep rough on wooden pallets in a sleeping bag under a mosquito net under the most spectacular night sky on earth.

Sue,

I know your plan is to go to Lima, but if at all possible try and fit in a visit to Bolivia.

Three years ago I spent three months travelling around the northern countries of South America and by far the best was Bolivia. It has by far the greatest concentration of indigenous peoples and the country is as beautiful and diverse as any could imagine.

If it is at all a possibility please go, you'll keep in in your heart forever. ps stay at hotel "Tuichi"

Either way, good luck with your travels, I wish you a fantastic trip.
