We are planning a trip on the Trans-Siberian railway for our silver wedding anniversary. As our 13-year-old son is also very keen to go I would appreciate advice on whether or not it is advisable to pay for a package (very expensive) or to attempt to organise the whole journey independently - the latter would be our usual method but we do appreciate the difficulties involved. Can anyone help?
