Warm conditions have taken their toll on most of Europe, while heavy snow in America and Canada is improving already great conditions.
Austria
Rain and high temperatures have caused some deterioration in the snow quality. Kitzbuhel (***) and St Anton (***) have wet snow on the lower slopes.
France
Wet/slushy snow in many resorts. Tignes (****) and Les Arcs (****) have great skiing on piste but off piste is to be avoided due to high avalanche risks.
Switzerland
Klosters (****) and Saas Fee (****) have some of the best skiing in Europe.
Italy
Still very good although some lower slopes are becoming worn. Madonna di Campiglio (***) has had recent rain.
Andorra
Generally adequate but the snow is becoming wet and heavy in many areas.
US
Snow is still falling in Stowe (*****) and Killington (*****). Conditions should be great for Easter.
Canada
Still very good throughout. Big White (****) has lovely powder off piste and good groomed snow on the slopes.
Liz Russell, The Ski Club of Great Britain
No snowflakes = a serious lack of snow - no lifts open. * = poor snow conditions, very few lifts open. ** = conditions reasonable, some slopes in poor condition.*** = plenty of good skiing. **** = good conditions. ***** = fantastic on and off piste.
