Spain: Sail or windsurf in the sheltered Fornells Bay, Minorca with Minorca Sailing Holidays (020-8948 2106, www.minorcasailing.co.uk). Prices begin at £652pp for two sharing a self-catering apartment in early May, and include return flights from Gatwick, sailing tuition and use of boats and boards.

France: Belle France (01797 223 777) is offering a six-night cycling holiday, with regular departures until September, with guests cycling around 20 miles a day between hotels while their luggage is transferred by car. The circular route starts in the small town of Graveson and other stops are made at Beaucaire and Fontieille. The price is from £479pp (self-drive, based on two sharing) or £589 travelling by Eurostar and changing in Lille. The price includes six nights' B&B accommodation, bicycles and route guides.

Asia

China: Exodus (020-8675 5550, www.exodus.co.uk) has a 20-day trip along the Silk Road between Kyrgystan and Beijing, crossing the Torugat Pass, and finishing with a visit to the Great Wall of China. Caribbean
