What's the best thing? I go over to have a bloody good time. My best friend lives in Dublin so I stay with him. It's an endless round of parties. I also think the food is exceptional . I like my food slapped on a plate and served straight away and that's what you get in Ireland - a nice big bowl of Irish stew and six fresh oysters to go with it. At one time, there was just Bewley's Café serving the usual fried breakfasts. Now there are brilliant restaurants.
My perfect day: I'd get up quite late and have a mooch around the shops. Then I'd go out properly at night. I'd have a few drinks in the pub, some seafood with a cold pint of Guinness. I don't care what anybody says, the Guinness we get over here is disgusting. In Dublin it's like drinking a pint of cream. At the end of the night, I'd probably end up in one of the clubs, like Lily's Bordello or the Pod.
My advice: They are charming in Dublin and they'll tolerate a lot, but don't turn up and behave like a yob. The city's become popular with visiting stag nights, and you certainly don't want to be confused with them.
Getting there: Aer Lingus (08459 737747) operates scheduled flights from London City Airport from around £109 return. Ryanair (0870 1569569, ryanair.com) flies from Stanstead. Special deals start at about £70 return.
