Low cost airline Buzz is to cut its lowest fares on flights to Europe by up to 45%.

The new prices have previously only been available during promotional periods.

From November 9 2001, Buzz will offer flights to Dusseldorf, La Rochelle, Paris and Poitiers from £19 one-way including all taxes, down from £35.

Fares to Berlin, Frankfurt, Milan, Bordeaux, Lyon, Helsinki and Marseille are now all available from £29 one-way including all taxes.

Adam Harris, Buzz's head of UK sales and marketing, said: "The entire airline industry is currently advertising one promotion after another to keep people flying. Instead we have taken a strategic decision just to reduce our prices in order to offer the public everyday low fares."

However, only around 10% of all seats on each route will be available at the lowest fares. Buzz are predicting that its move, which comes days after RyanAir announced first-half profits of £65m, will result in an increase of 15% in bookings.
