Havana, here we come
Air Jamaica is launching a new service to Havana from 22 April next year. The weekly flight will depart on a Monday from Heathrow and will be the only scheduled or charter flight to the Cuban capital. Fares start at £459 plus taxes. Reservations: 020 8570 7999.

Ajax welcomes snowboarders
The US ski resort of Aspen opens up the last of its four mountains to snowboarders this winter. The Colorado resort already allowed snowboarders to use Snowmass, Highlands and Buttermilk but has now added Ajax (Aspen Mountain).

Lufthansa's launch
Lufthansa is launching a new service from London City Airport to Hamburg on 19 November. Three flights will operate from Monday to Friday and a daily flight on Saturdays and Sundays. Return fares start from £103 including taxes. Reservations: 0845 773 7747.

Bush telegraph: new hotel opens
A chic hotel, K West, has opened in west London. Formerly known as The Kensington in Shepherd's Bush, it's had a £7m refurbishment. Prices start at £182 per night for a double (020 7674 1000).
