Safeguard your toddler on the beach with the Sposh Ozone suit, a blend of cotton, polyester and Lycra to block out the sun's harmful rays. It's loose-fitting and has a full-length zip, plus crotch poppers on the smallest size for easy changing. Floatsuits have been around for a while. But the Swimsafe version from Australia includes a ring of foam at the neck to keep your child's head above water. The suit has built-in foam panels and a UPF rating of 50+ to protect against the sun's rays. In three sizes and colours, for kids weighing 17-44lbs, it costs £36.99 plus p&p, from Jakabel (020 8715 2385).

Keep the baby's drink cool when out in the sun with foam bottle 'wet suits'. Machine washable, they fit most 8oz/9oz bottles and come in packs of two for £10.56 from TravelGuru Goods (01359 233210; www.emporiumuk.com).
