The eastern European low-cost flight market is hotting up, with increased services from EasyJet, while Sky Europe Airlines and newcomer Wizz Air are also upping the ante.
· Wizz Air (00 48 22 500 9499; www.wizzair.com), which flies from Luton to Katowice in Poland, has started regular flights to Warsaw and Budapest. From 10 August it will add Gdansk. Flights start at £13.99 one way, plus tax.
· SkyEurope Airlines (020 7365 0365; www.skyeurope.com) has added Warsaw to its list of destinations, which also includes Budapest and Bratislava. Flights from Stansted cost from £17 one way, plus tax.
· Gatwick is to become the main hub for Luton-based EasyJet (0871 750 0100; www.easyjet.com), after adding Budapest and Cologne from September, Venice and Rome from November, and Murcia from February. This will bring the number of flights from Gatwick to 25, compared with 20 from Luton. New routes will start at £40.98 return, including tax.
