How low can you go?

A new website, www.wegolo.com claims to compare the lowest air fares, listing which of 55 low-cost airlines operate on any given route and displaying prices with no hidden extras.

EasyJet (0871 750 0100; www.easyjet.com) has announced new routes from Bristol starting 7 May: return flights to Inverness cost from £13.98, and to Murcia and Pisa from £40.98.

The Almyra hotel (00 357 26 933091; www.thanoshotels.com) in Paphos, Cyprus, now lets parents order baby equipment - nappies, potties or bottles - in advance so they don't have to pack them.

Lux of the Irish

Ireland's biggest spa and fitness centre is to open as part of The Heritage (00 353 502 45500; www.theheritage.com), a luxury hotel due to open in July in the village of Killenard in County Laois. It also has a floodlit walking track, Ireland's only indoor international bowls stadium, a cinema and golf course.
