Getting there

Where to eat

At the new Icelandic Fish & Chips on the old harbour (Tryggvagata 8). A portion of organic Icelandic cod in spelt batter, chips (from organic local potatoes of course) and skyronnes , a mayonnaise made with low-fat milk, costs around pounds 12 - good value compared with the city's gourmet restaurants. The posh chippie is near the legendary late-night hotdog stand which was due to be demolished but has been saved after a local campaign.
