Why now?
For the Romería del Rocío on May 28 when hundreds of thousands of pilgrims descend on the village of El Rocío, in the Parque Nacional de Doñana, to pay homage to Our Lady of El Rocío. It may be Spain's biggest pilgrimage but the mood is far from solemn. There's singing, eating and drinking along the way and fireworks at night.
