Mounted on his mighty steed in Budapest's Heroes' Square, the statue of Arpad, once Grand Prince of the Magyars, spends most of its time staring heroically upon gangs of skateboarders and snapping tourists. One suspects that the inaugural "National Gallop" on May 31 will be much more up his street. Up to a hundred horses and riders will race round the square in thoroughly courageous fashion, competing in an all-day tournament with a €200,000 bounty.
