To reach Zakynthos without using the airport, from Athens Kifissou bus station coaches run four times daily to Kyllini from where ferries sail to Zakynthos town. Alternatively take the train to Bari in Italy, overnight ferry to Patras, bus to Kyllini and finally ferry to Zakynthos. For more information see zakynthos-net.gr.
