The latest "best job in the world" cum marketing wheeze sounds like it could be a blast but probably should come with a health warning. Applications open today for "one of the most rock & roll jobs on the planet", trumpets the release calling for a full-time globe-trotting guide, chaperone and front person for Trident's Perpetual Festival Experience.
The role, for Trident Gum, involves the arduous task of attending 30 festivals around the world - from Creamfields in Buenos Aires to Bestival on the Isle of Wight - in 30 weeks for a salary of £30,000. It should appeal to those who have themselves pegged as the "last man standing" at every weekender.
But with play comes responsibility – the successful applicant will have to look after weekly competition winners, and "bring to life their once in a lifetime musical expedition" through regular tweets, blogs, photos and video diaries.
The first hurdle to the world tour is to impress a panel of judges including Rob da Bank (Bestival curator) and Steve Jenner founder of virtualfestivals.com. Then you're on the road - potentially to ruin.
