From the greens of the Northern Lights to the rainbow of the Painted Desert, colour continues to astound and fascinate photographers as it brings our world to life. For our final 2014 assignment, send us your travel shots on the theme of colour, via GuardianWitness, and you could win an amazing trip to South Africa.

The winning image will be mounted and exhibited in the end-of-year gallery at King’s Place London. Once the exhibition is finished digital printers Point 101 will send you a copy of your shot to place with pride on your own wall. The winner will be entered for the overall prize, an incredible 11-night trip toKwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa, courtesy of Tourism KwaZulu Natal and specialist tour operator Africa and Beyond.

Just a heads up: you must be a UK resident to enter and we need you to upload the highest possible resolution of your shot via GuardianWitness. You’ll also need to provide a caption of up to 80 words on where it was taken, what’s happening in the shot, what inspired you to take it, any technical details if pertinent. You must also supply your full name with the caption.

And don’t forget to read the terms and conditions before you enter.
