Trips to Stonehenge
English Heritage has teamed up with South West Trains and travel company Guide Friday to offer daily inclusive trips to Stonehenge. Tickets can be bought at London's Waterloo station for the 80-minute fast train to Salisbury where a two-hour bus tour features an hour at Stonehenge and visits to other attractions such as Old Sarum Castle and the 780-year-old cathedral. The tour - which runs three times daily at 10am, noon and 2pm until 29 October - costs £34.50 for adults, £17 for children and £24.50 for seniors/young persons railcards. Raise a stein

Low-cost airline Go (0845 605 4321) relaunches flights to Munich on 14 September in time for the city's Oktoberfest, the world's largest beer festival, which runs from 16 September to 3 October. Taking new Steppes

Steppes East, which offers tailor-made and escorted tours 'for the wild at heart' from Morocco to Mongolia, is launching a new brochure - Destination South America. The entire continent is covered from trekking in Machu Picchu to beach holidays in Brazil. Phone 01285 885333 for brochures.

Cathedral tours

Whistler Tours (01743 718964) has put together a weekend package that allows visitors to explore Worcester, Gloucester and Hereford cathedrals. The weekend, from 6 to 8 October, costs £220 for two nights dinner, bed and breakfast at the Bank House Hotel, Worcester, guided tours of the three cathedrals, lunches and entry fees.

Landmark openings

The Irish Landmark Trust is allowing free public access to all six of its properties this week. No 25 Eustace Street in Dublin, an eighteenth-century merchant house, opens on Wednesday, while properties in Kilkenny, Cork and Donegal open on Saturday, Ballealy Cottage at Randalstown, Co Antrim, is open on Saturday and Sunday and Wicklow Lighthouse on Sunday.
