Surfing in Morocco is better south of Essaouira - it's very windy there and better for kitesurfing and windsurfing. The best place to go from my experience is a small town just north of Agadir called Taghazout. There are several good breaks around there and a small but friendly local surf culture.

One of the most famous spots is Anka Point, which produces a long right-hander peeling off the rocks. It's for the more experienced surfer, but a ride here under the right conditions is difficult to forget. Killer Point is another great wave with incredible cliffs looking over it, and it's sometimes graced by the killer whales that give it its name.
