· My wife and I live in Dubrovnik, one of the most magical cities of the Mediterranean. We are offering holidays here based around a combination of our apartment, in the heart of the old city, and our boat - a 38ft ketch with room for up to four guests, with ourselves as skipper and guide.
It's a chance to explore both Dubrovnik and the coast and islands of Dalmatia. My wife is a local girl and can introduce people to places and aspects of this culture that are easily missed on an ordinary holiday. There are a thousand or so islands along this coast, about 60 inhabited, and wandering freely by boat is the only way to get to know them.
Croatia is a very safe place now, eager to leave the scars of war behind and welcome travellers - on whom the economy certainly depends, but more than that there is a will to be included in a wider world community.
We have a website: www.sailcroatia.co.uk. If history and culture aren't enough there are simpler pleasures - sunshine, and wonderfully clear warm sea ...
