I have to echo the sentiments of a fellow "sit-at-home-and follow-you-around-the-worlder": jealousy doesn't come close.

I was in New Zealand during June and July last year and have fond memories of my time travelling on the Magic Bus. I think you've made the right decision to spend more of your time on the South Island. The north is fantastic, as you've seen, but I think the scenery on the south is just so much more striking and memorable. My birthday was spent watching the sunset in Punakaiki last year. Leicester just doesn't compare!

On to my advice - if you've not already passed it then I would highly recommend taking the gondala ride in Queenstown at sunset. The view out over Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables is... well... remarkable.

Value every moment and reflect on where you are in the world, you'll be back before you know it.
