Martyn Griffiths is looking for cheap accommodation in Moscow, possibly renting an apartment for a week
I always use the apartment rental services of 'Moscow Rick' (enjoymoscow.com). Rick, an American, now lives in Moscow with his Russian wife and daughter and rents out a variety of apartments that are well located and pretty reasonably priced.

You could try a street in Moscow called Yaroslavskaya. The hotel of the same name is quite decent, with rooms with own bathroom and a nice view for only $30 a night, no breakfast included though. If that one's full, there are about five other hotels in the street with similar prices.

Most decent hotels near the centre are expensive, but rooms in the Ismailova complex to the east cost around $50 a night B&B and are clean, comfortable and safe. I prefer the Gamma block, but there are several others in the complex. There's a metro station nearby, only a few stops to the city centre. Just outside the hotel is an attractive park and lake with a famous Sunday handicraft fair.

David Duncombe wants to walk in the Spanish Pyrenees with an organised party while honing his language skills.
Pyrenean Experiences (pyreneanexperience.com) operates in the unspoilt Batzan valley in the northern Pyrenees. It offers walking, together with Spanish which is taught by a native speaker. The walks are best described as 'relaxed', with small groups and authentic conversational practice. Accommodation is in a comfortable 17th-century farmhouse, with seemingly unlimited food and wine. A great holiday.

See Alto Aragon, altoaragon.co.uk, 01869 337339 (calls routed to Spain at no extra cost to caller - but beware the Spanish calling tone; it sounds like it's engaged). The British owners specialise in an area of the Spanish Pyrenees largely unknown to the UK but which has some of the very best walking opportunities in Spain. They arrange custom-made, small (under 12) guided or independent walks as you wish. They are more than happy to speak Spanish with clients and as English is rarely spoken in that area, I am sure you will get lots of practice.

This week's questions
I'm going to the US and want to hire a car. As I'm 21 years old, most companies ask for a $20 a day surcharge. Those that claim not to charge extra simply bump up their price to this amount. Are there any companies offering a fair deal for under 25 year olds?

We are going to Iceland in mid July, staying near Olafsvik. Where can we go whale watching and how much would it cost?
