Over £6,000 of fireworks will be let off during a 45-minute display at Brighton's biggest bonfire night event. Withdean Stadium, Tongdean Lane, Brighton. Open 6pm, fireworks 7.30pm. £6 adults, £3 children.

Stockton closes off a section of dual carriageway for its fireworks bonanza which is expected to attract up to 100,000 people. Riverside Road, Stockton-on-Tees. Open 6pm, fireworks 7.30pm. Free.

The biggest fireworks display in Birmingham attracts up to 20,000 people each year. Pype Hayes Park, Erdington.Open 5.30pm, fireworks at 7pm and 9pm. Admission £3 adults, £2 children.

Covered seating is available at Edinburgh's sound and light show. Meadowbank Stadium, London Road, Edinburgh. Open at 5pm, fireworks at 6pm. Admission £4 for a covered stand seat, £3 for the ground.

The Wirral Borough Council holds eight community bonfires in local parks. There are bonfires and firework displays at each of them and admission is free. They start at 6.30pm.

Liverpool's Kings Dock fireworks will be released from a barge moored in the middle of the Mersey. Fireworks at 8pm. Funfair 6pm -10.30pm. Free.

Glasgow's display will feature blazing fire sculptures, live music and a funfair. Glasgow Green, off London Road at the Barras, Glasgow. Entertainment, 6.30pm; fireworks at 7.20pm. Free.

A fire juggler will be entertaining the crowds in Basingstoke's War Memorial Park from 6.30pm. Fireworks start 7.30pm London Road, Basingstoke. £3 adults, £2 children.

Swansea's rugby ground will be the venue for the town's celebrations. Entertainment will be provided by the local radio station and live acts.St Helens Rugby Ground, Mumbles Road, Swansea. Open 5.30pm, fireworks at 7.30pm. Admission £3 adults, £2.50 children.

The biggest bonfire in London - the height of a double decker bus - will be lit in Burgess Park at 6.45pm, followed by a 25-minute display. Burgess Park, Albany Road, London, SE5. Fireworks at 7pm. Free.
