Lanarca lift off

Cypriot Airline Helios Airways (0870 7502750, flyhelios.com) is introducing five flights a week from Heathrow to Larnaca on May 1, the day Cyprus joins the EU. Prices start at £99 return (plus £24.60 tax) for departures May 1-June 30, booked by April 22.

Island hopping

Online ferry booking service Viamare.com has upgraded its site to allow visitors to arrange tickets for domestic ferries between the Greek islands prior to travel. The website features three Greek ferry companies (Blue Star Ferries, Anek and Minoan Lines) servicing Crete, the Cyclades and Dodecanese islands.

FCO on the ball

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office is offering travel tips to football supporters planning to visit Portugal during Euro 2004. Pocket-sized information leaflets including emergency contact numbers and Portuguese phrases will be distributed with tickets and at pre-Euro 2004 friendlies. The FCO expects over 50,000 British football fans to travel to see the games.
