Hi Milly. My name is Ruth and I'm 17 and planning to take a gap year when I finish my A-levels. I am going to go to India, so I can't advise you about that yet... My recommendation is, GO TO NEW ZEALAND!!! I went this summer and it is an absolutely lovely country. it is beautiful and friendly, civilised but not spoilt. Go to Auckland and Christchurch. Outside Christchurch there are beautiful snow-capped mountains. There is a tiny hamlet in the mountains called Arthur's Pass - ask the tourism office about it. Wow, wow, wow. We only went there for a few days but it is amazing. there are dozens of striking waterfalls, lush greenery, glistening snow... the air is as fresh as can be and when you get there you just feel as though at last, you are living.
