We're off to Ross-on-Wye for an active family camping holiday. Anything we should consider taking along?
If you are the sort of family that enjoys playing around on the river, perhaps an Inflatable Kayak. The two-seater craft comes with a foot pump and takes about half-an-hour's foot-work to inflate to its full 10ft length.
How sturdy is it?
Very. It is especially rigid thanks to air-filled crossmembers in the hull, and the kayak can cope with a payload of 400lbs - enough for two people and a bit of kit. The plastic for the boat is heavy and durable - as you might expect from a craft which, when stored, weighs around 25lbs. It is clearly a recreational boat for slinging in the boot of a car rather than carrying on your back.
How much?
£179, plus p&p, from Nauticalia (01932 253333). Additional two-in-one paddles cost £19.95.
