Floods fail to deter Prague tourists
Prague has spearheaded a revival in city breaks to eastern Europe, with Warsaw, Tallinn and Riga all attracting record numbers of British weekenders last year. Prague has jumped to eighth place in Travelscene's annual cities league table with a 67% increase despite the severe floods in September.
Paris remains the most popular city break destination, with old favourites Amsterdam and Bruges again holding second and third places, respectively. Brussels leapfrogs Barcelona into fourth position while Rome slips to sixth.
Charters on time
The time-keeping of charter flights improved significantly last summer, according to figures released by the Civil Aviation Authority this week. For the first time, the charter flights matched the on-time rates of the scheduled airlines.
The highest average delays for charter flights were on the routes to Palma, Malaga and Larnaca. The worst airports for scheduled flights were Luton (where 71% of charter flights were on time compared with 58% of scheduled flights), Jersey, Malaga and Rome Fiumicino.
