Just to echo what Andrea said about New Zealand and to add a few more suggestions. Lake Taupo is beautiful, as is Napier if you like art deco (and very well restored). You can visit vineyards in Hawkes Bay, and I'd recommend the views from Te Mata Peak just inland from Napier. I have relatives there and enjoyed many summers in my childhood on the beaches on the east coast, and also in the Bay of Islands. Rotorua on the other hand is very touristy (the town itself is not up to much) but I'd still go, as the Thermal Wonderland pools are amazing and well worth the visit.

As for the South Island, the Abel Tasman (even just for a day walk) Milford Sound and Queenstown are compulsory viewing! Really in NZ the list of 'must sees' is endless Have a great time! And keep taking lots of lovely pictures.
