Intrepid Travel (020 8960 6333) will resume trips to Bali and Lombok in Indonesia this August despite advice against non-essential travel to the region.

Intrepid suspended its Indonesia operations when the Foreign Office issued a travel warning following bombings in Kuta in October 2002. The current FO advice is: 'There continues to be a high risk of terrorism directed against Westerners throughout the country.'

General manager Damian Perry said: 'We will make sure that our customers are completely aware of the FO's advice and let them make their own call.'

Intrepid controversially decided to resume trips to Burma in April.
