The Foreign Office has warned British visitors to Spain to be vigilant following last week's car bomb in the holiday resort of Salou. The Basque separatist group ETA has started targeting tourists. The FO said there may be further disruption. FO: 020 7008 0232.
Dog's life in National Trust cottages
The National Trust has added more canine-friendly properties to its latest cottages brochure. About a dozen of the 60 new cottages welcome guests with dogs. A charge of £15 per animal, per week will be made, but the dogs are not allowed on furniture or beds. Tel: 0870 4584411.

Vancouver hotel goes hypoallergenic
The Fairmont Vancouver Airport hotel has created a hypoallergenic floor for guests who suffer from allergies. The 392-room property has added air and water-purifying systems to 42 of its guest rooms along with fibre cluster pillows and duvets and a dustbusting system.
