Austria
Following some fresh snow at altitude in Obergurgl (* * *) and St Anton (* * *), conditions are very good on the upper slopes and there is some excellent off piste powder in among the trees. However, the lower slopes are slushy. In Kitzbuhel (* *), the pistes are wet and heavy going. Head to the high altitude, glacial resorts such as Kaprun (* * *), Hintertux (* * *) or Solden (* * *).
France
In Alpe d'Huez (* * *) and Argentiere (* * *)there are hard, icy conditions in the mornings. However, the pistes quickly soften in the sun and by the end of the day the lower slopes are heavy going. The best conditions can still be found in Serre Chevalier (* * * *) and Montgenevre (* * * *).
Switzerland
Fresh snow has refreshed the upper slopes in St Moritz (* * *) and Davos (* * *). In Verbier (* * * *) Mont Fort has finally reopened giving access to some fantastic powder. Some resorts are now really struggling with lower snow cover such as Crans Montana (* * ), Klosters (* * *) and Murren (* * *).
Italy
The best conditions in Europe can still be found in Italy - in Cervinia (* * * *) and Cortina (* * *).
Andorra
In Soldeu (* * ) the pistes are hard in the morning but soften by mid-morning.
US
In Aspen (* * *) and Breckenridge (* * *) the snow cover is still very good throughout the area but the best skiing can be found first thing in the morning. In Killington (* * * *) the snow just keeps on falling and over the past week another 45 inches of snow has fallen.
Canada
Fresh snow for the Banff Ski Area (* * *) has dramatically improved conditions. Whistler (* * *) has also received some fresh snow, which has refreshed the major slopes but the lower slopes are slushy in places. In Fernie (* *) conditions are soft and wet particularly at resort level.
