Black and white camera film

Where can I buy a black and white film for my APS camera?Malcolm Edson

· We found a black and white film for our Canon IXUS APS camera in Tesco (Aldershot). 25 exposure, 400 ASA.

Apparently, you can remove a half-used film from the camera, load another film and then replace the previous half-used film. Does anyone have any advice on how to do this?

· Kodak black and white APS film (ISO 400, 25 exposures) is listed in the Summer 2002 Jessops catalogue. A single roll is listed at £4.90 with 10 rolls at the discounted price of £26.98.

As demand for black and white film is low, I suspect that Malcolm may have to order it. With my experience of the Jessop's ordering system, I wish him luck.

I am sure that any small independent photographic shop would be able to obtain the film for him.

· Kodak make a black and white APS film, Advantix 400. It is available from Speed Graphic (tel 0845 3305530, www.speedgraphic.co.uk) at £3.05 for a single film or £27.50 for 10. If there are other black & white APS films available in the UK Speed Graphic will be able to advise. Their service is first-rate.

· I have been buying Kodak Advantix 400 ASA film, black and white, for my camera, from Boots in Derby city centre for the last 3 years: it is usually on 3 for 2 as well! Have you tried a large Boots, or perhaps their website?

A 25 exposure roll of Kodak Advantix 400 film costs £4.90. It is developed in the same chemicals as colour film, so most high-street labs can have it processed and printed in an hour.
