· We booked a tailor-made trip to Bhutan with Cox & Kings (020 7873 5000) with a private guide and driver. While not exactly inexpensive, we felt it definately worth the extra money not to be travelling in a group in such a special country. I would strongly recommend, if you can spare the extra time and money, to travel as far as Tashigang in Eastern Bhutan, and try not to be tempted by a group tour which only does the Pheuntsholing/Thimpu/Paro route as you would miss so much.

As far as "not too expensive" goes, travel to Bhutan is pretty much fixed in price. The government stipulates a fixed fee per day for travel to Bhutan which is non-negotiable.
