Snow of the week
Though Europe is still crying out for snow, the US and Canada are enjoying storms that have left 50cm of fresh snow in Aspen, Colorado, and the same in the Canadian resort of Fernie. More snow is expected in Colorado this week. Back in Europe, the best conditions are being reported in Austria, which got fresh snow last week. Kitzbühel had 10cm of new snow, leaving even the runs down into the village in good condition. A sprinkling of snow in Andorra has consolidated early snowfall; in Soldeu, the pistes are reported to be tightly packed but well groomed and perfect for carver turns. Light snowfall in Switzerland has helped conditions there.

Website of the week
What is eyecatching about this site is that it includes far-flung destinations such as Iran, Korea, Morocco and South Africa. All come with reviews from people who have skied there. Be warned, though - in Merida, Venezuela, 'the nearest run to the top station ends in a sheer cliff and certain death'.
