Fifty pupils and two teachers from Torquay boys' grammar school, Devon, have contracted Norwalk virus while on a ski trip to Austria. The Austrian health authorities are investigating the outbreak of the vomiting and diarrhoea bug. The boys, who are due home tomorrow, may be told to miss school on Monday. The school is taking advice from the Health Protection Agency. The hotel had suffered an outbreak before the party arrived, but said it had been deep cleaned. Headteacher Roy Pike said: "On any one day, 20 has been the minimum number who have it. But it is very much a 24-hour bug."
