• We've been to South Africa two years running and spent time in Capetown on both occasions. Certainly there are horror stories about the crime situation, but we loved Capetown and it really seemed fine... at least during daylight hours! We followed the usual advice on avoiding trouble.

Further out, Stellenbosch was also an excellent base.
