Jonathan Rendell never travels without…

Anti-jerk tablets | Mobile phones | A blue plastic bracelet

A necessity: My Oxazapan 10mg anti-jerk tablets. I suffer from involuntary movement, especially on trains and planes, so I need them on my travels.

A luxury: No "largers" - people who push their way around brandishing mobile phones. The numbers seem to have grown enormously. You can spot them by their walk, the way they continually glance down at their phones. They don't respect anyone and push their personalities on to others.

A memento: A blue plastic bracelet I shop-lifted by accident in Las Vegas. It was a genuine mistake. I had to get some shoes early in the morn ing and at the checkout I must have brushed inadvertently against a stand and after I'd left I found this $1.99 bracelet in my bag. Once I had it, my luck changed. My last bet won.

If only: A stand-up mahagony bar full of entertaining people on every plane. It would be much more interesting than watching the film.
