Have a wonderful time in Australia. We can thoroughly recommend the northern area of Queensland, Port Douglas, north of Cairns. There you can continue to be "batty" and see flying squirrels. A trip on a boat to the Great Barrier Reef to do some snorkelling is also essential. Our guide was Rod, a dead ringer for Paul Hogan.

Hi Sue

Glad you enjoyed being cooler (and wetter) in Cameron Highlands. Glad you saw the fireflies. I wish I had forced my son and his wife to do the trip there (with us in tow) when they were in KL at the end of their honeymoon. He wasn't that keen. I am now even more keen to see them before we leave this part of the world.

You swim around corals just below you and then you go on a yard or two to a sea of such depth that it reminds you of the quote "measureless to man".

In Sydney there is some cheap lodging to be found in the Kings Cross/ Paddington area, popular with back packers, but close to an area with similar facilities to those found in Soho, London!

We have a trip to K.L. soon. We continue to enjoy your reports.Take care.
