Guardian Unlimited Travel picked up an award last night at the NetMedia 2001, the European online journalism awards held in London. The award was for the best travel reporting, and the other nominees were The Source Israel Online Magazine and The Phallus Palace.

The Guardian Unlimited network also received awards for best news story, for its coverage of the foot and mouth crisis, best investigative reporting using video and audio for Maggie O'Kane's investigation: The Refugee Trail, and best use of mobile connectivity for its WAP and PDA services.
