Dengue fever warning in Asia
Travellers to South East Asia are being warned to take precautions against mosquito bites as an outbreak of Dengue Fever has hit the region. The worst affected areas are the Mekong Delta in south-west Vietnam, parts of Thailand and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. MASTA travellers health line: 09068 22 41 00.

Russian homestays
Russia specialist Interchange (020 8681 3612) is offering homestays in Moscow and St Petersburg in its new Spirit of Russia brochure. A five-night stay with a family in St Petersburg costs from £345 including flights and half-board accommodation.

Labour of love
The Taj Mahal in Agra is to undergo a major facelift which will involve repairs to damaged walls, illumination of the gardens at night, multilingual-headset tours and a new visitors centre, with restaurants and toilets. A feasibility study is currently being carried out for the project which will be part-funded by Taj Hotels.

Health advice
Superdrug has introduced a walk-in travel health advice service in its 240 shops. Customers can discuss their trip with the pharmacist who will then print out an information sheet with details of vaccinations and precautions required.
