Smashing tennis tours

Tennis fans who missed out on Wimbledon tickets can now look around the hallowed Centre Court on the first guided tours of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. Tours will run every Saturday and Sunday from 21 July until 28 October and cost £12.50 per adult. Booking is necessary (tel: 020 8946 6131).

Eurostar goes non-smoking

Eurostar will introduce a no-smoking policy on board all its trains from 1 October. The company says it will ditch its two smoking carriages in response to increased demand for no-smoking seats.

Dartmoor reopens

Dartmoor National Park plans to reopen most of its footpaths to the public on 14 July. Much of the park has been closed to walkers since the outbreak of foot and mouth disease in February. For full details visit: www.dartmoor-npa.gov.uk

It's flying cats and dogs

British Airways will carry cats and dogs on flights into Gatwick from Barcelona, Rome and Bermuda, as part of a six-month trial for its Pet Travel Service. Pets will travel as cargo in aircraft holds.
