Why? The band stayed in Sydney for about a month during a world tour in 1985 and we just had the most amazing time there. There's something about the place that really works: it's a beautifully unclaustrophobic city with a thriving arts scene, great shops and, of course, the beach.
What's the best thing? Apart form the beautiful harbour, it has to be the people. They're open, honest and kind.
My perfect day: I'd head out for a wander round The Rocks, which is a bit like Covent Garden - but with sun. In the afternoon, I'd hit the beach. In the evening, I'd enjoy a long, lazy dinner at one of the thousands of restaurants that line the streets - Sydney is a great place to eat out.
My advice: If you can, it's really worth flying business class; it makes a big difference.
Getting there: Qantas (www.qantas.com.au, 0845 7747767) offers return flights from London to Sydney from around £974.
