Located on a Brittany peninsula landscaped with palms, bamboo, oak and magnolias, the Domaine de Moulin Mer was built in the 1920s by the ever-so-noble Madec family of Logonna-Daoulas. One imagines they would have been slightly miffed with its recent makeover as a B&B, available to any old riff raff.

A large en suite double will set you back £42 per night, while an extra £30 will get you the Roz suite, complete with a private lounge with large leather sofas and a fireplace.
