Baltic design
Tallinn's first design hotel, The Three Sisters, is a conversion of three medieval town houses said to be the oldest in the city. The understated design combines the original beams, fireplaces and wooden floors with cool contemporary colours and furnishings. There's a bar and a summer terrace.
The Three Sisters features in the new Kirker brochure (020-7231 3333, kirkerholidays.com) with prices from £523 for five nights' B&B, including Gatwick flights and private transfers.
Dzongs with Ong
Christina Ong, who created London's Metropolitan and Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos, is building a luxury hotel in the Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan. The 20-room hotel will open in May on a hillside at Uma Paro close to the international airport. Three satellite lodges are to be set in more remote locations.
