Last week, we asked you to send in money-saving tips. Here are some of your suggestions:
* In Spain, make the most of Tapas bars and save the price of a meal.

* When in Budapest on a Saturday in the summer, avoid the (relative) expense and the tourists at Gellert baths and head to the outdoor pool in Varosliget near Heroes Square (Hosok Tere underground stop). You get a reduction if you spend less than five hours there. It has a sauna and chess boards built into the pool.
Patrick Kenny
* Avoid sales tax on clothes and shoes in New York by taking the subway to New Jersey (take the PATH train for $1.50 along 6th Avenue at either 34th, 23rd, 14th or 9th Street to Pavonia) which takes about 15 minutes. The local shopping mall outside the station is free of tourists.

* When booking internal rail journeys in France book direct with SNCF over the internet (there is an English language version at sncf .com) and pay in francs by credit card. This can be cheaper than booking with Rail Europe in London.
Ronald Adelson
* Many museums, historic sites and art galleries in Europe are free on Sundays.
Maggie Bevis
* Send a money-saving tip to the Guardian and win a free Rough Guide of your choice.
